riStar Realty Group has been given the green light to build a medical office building and an assisted living apartment complex in Encino. The Los Angeles City Council approved the project, led by Daniel Kashani, at 17017 Ventura Boulevard. The development, dubbed ParkPointe Encino, will replace commercial storefronts and a parking lot with two buildings: a three-story medical office building facing the boulevard, and a triangular apartment complex behind it.
The medical office building will be 55,000 square feet, while the apartment complex will have 66 assisted living units and 24 memory care units. An underground garage will serve 364 cars, and a small courtyard and alley will separate the two buildings. The project's design includes floor-to-ceiling windows for the medical office building and black trim with trellises over rooftop terraces for the apartment complex.
TriStar bought the property in 2016 for $4.6 million and plans to complete construction within three-and-a-half years, although a cost estimate was not disclosed. The company has developed other commercial properties, including the Ventana Medical Plaza in Tarzana.
