This move follows months of criticism from Pulte and former President Trump over interest rates. Pulte claims that Powell has engaged in "malfeasance" due to his handling of monetary policy decisions.

    Pulte, who also chairs the boards of Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac, released a statement on X requesting an investigation into Powell's actions. He cited concerns about Powell's testimony before Congress, including alleged inaccuracies regarding the Fed's facilities. Pulte also referenced comments made by Senator Cynthia Lummis, who criticized Powell for making "factually inaccurate statements" during his testimony.

    The Federal Reserve declined to comment on Pulte's request when reached by Real Estate News. The call for an investigation follows months of criticism from Pulte and Trump over the Fed's decision not to lower interest rates. Despite Powell defending the Fed's decisions, Pulte and Trump have urged him to resign.
