Giorgio Armani's enduring mark on luxury real estate

Giorgio Armani's legacy extends beyond fashion, with a lasting impact on Italian culture and society.

G
iorgio Armani's passing at 91 has left an indelible mark on the fashion world, but his legacy extends far beyond the runway. As a shrewd businessman, he built a real estate empire that redefined luxury living. His personal property portfolio was a testament to this, with lavish homes scattered across the globe.

Armani's Italian roots were reflected in his hometown apartment in Milan, but he also had a private island retreat on Pantelleria, where he owned seven properties, including Cala Gadir, purchased in 1979. He also had a home in Saint Tropez, which Vogue Australia featured in 2015, and two villas in Antigua, complete with Armani Casa-designed interiors.

In the United States, Armani's real estate footprint was substantial, with nearly 200 stores across the country, including 37 in California and 15 in New York City. His commercial ventures were equally impressive, such as the Giorgio Armani Residences at 760 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, which became one of the city's top-performing luxury contracts.

Armani's brand was expanding its reach beyond the US, with plans for branded residences in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and a two-tower condo project in Pompano Beach, Florida. The Armani/Casa Residences Pompano Beach is set to be the second South Florida development from the luxury Italian brand.
