Hartford Resource Center Expands with New Facilities

Hartford Resource Center marks significant expansion with new developments

H
artford, WI – A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a significant milestone for Interfaith Caregivers and the United Way of Washington County as they expanded the h.e.l.p. Corner in Hartford.

The new facility at 38 Sell Drive will serve as a one-stop-shop for individuals with limitations who require temporary medical equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, or walkers. The loans are available for up to three months, with extensions possible upon request.

Interfaith Caregivers' Executive Director Melanie Gonring expressed her excitement about the expansion, stating that it will enable them to provide more Hartford residents with necessary medical equipment at no cost. This partnership is part of a long-term collaboration between Interfaith and United Way, which also includes Healthy Aging in Place programs.

United Way's CEO Kristin Brandner emphasized the importance of expanding services to Hartford, citing the community's need for localized resources. She noted that the Hartford Resource Center will help bridge the gap between West Bend-centric services and the needs of Hartford residents.

The new facility will house Interfaith Caregivers and Washington County's Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), which offers a single source for information and assistance on issues affecting older adults and people with disabilities. Brandner highlighted the growing need for programs serving seniors in the county, stating that ADRC and Interfaith recognized the importance of providing localized services to engage with Hartford-area residents.

The h.e.l.p. Corner has received support from community collaborators such as Threshold, Inc., and the ADRC. For more information about the h.e.l.p. Corner or Interfaith Caregivers, visit their respective websites at www.helpcorner.org/ and interfaithwashco.org/.
