atboro Borough has partnered with Portnoff Law Associates, a King of Prussia-based law firm, to collect delinquent real estate taxes and trash fees. This move aims to reduce the administrative burden on the borough and its residents by utilizing state laws that allow for collection costs to be imposed on delinquent property owners.
Delinquent property owners will receive a notice with payment details and a 30-day grace period to make arrangements. Those with large balances can negotiate payment plans up to six months, while owner occupants experiencing financial hardship may qualify for longer terms through a hardship program. After the grace period ends, Portnoff Law Associates will proceed with collection, charging delinquent owners the associated legal fees and costs.
The borough advises property owners who haven't paid their taxes or trash fees to contact Portnoff Law Associates promptly upon receiving notice to avoid additional charges.
