Hicksville's Transit-Oriented Development Gets a Boost from Terwilliger & Bartone

Terwilliger & Bartone Properties to develop $61 million project near Hicksville's high-traffic transit hub.

erwilliger & Bartone Properties is developing a $61 million, 106-unit transit-oriented project called Cornerstone Hicksville on Jerusalem Avenue in Hicksville, Long Island. The development will feature studios, one- and two-bedroom units, with 10% of the units set aside as affordable housing. Underground parking and 4,000 square feet of retail space are also planned.

    Cornerstone Hicksville is part of Hicksville's ongoing downtown revitalization efforts, which include a 2021 rezoning and a $10 million grant. The project will be located near the town's high-traffic train station and is expected to begin construction in the second half of next year, pending approval.

    The unit mix will include studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, each with its own washer and dryer. Communal amenities will include a fitness center and clubroom. Ten percent of units will be set aside for those earning up to 80% of the area median income. The project will also feature 200 parking spaces underground.

    Terwilliger & Bartone Properties has a history of developing transit-oriented projects on Long Island, including recent developments in Farmingdale, Hauppauge, Lynbrook, and Westbury. The company is working with GRCH Architecture to design the project and Greystar for leasing and management.
