ologic's manufacturing and R&D expansion in Newark, Delaware has been recognized with a 2025 Project Achievement Award from the Construction Management Association of America New England Chapter (CMAA-NE). The award was accepted by Timberline Construction Corporation at a June 4 ceremony in Boston.
The project involved transforming a 115,000-square-foot space through interior fit-out and ground-up construction of a new warehouse. This was achieved while Hologic's critical operations remained fully operational, thanks to detailed coordination, phased scheduling, and experience managing complex environments by Timberline.
Craig Bernier, Head of Global Real Estate and Facilities at Hologic, praised Timberline for delivering the project with precision and care, overcoming schedule constraints and construction challenges without disrupting ongoing operations. The relocation of critical equipment and energy-efficient upgrades have created a facility that supports both growth and sustainability goals.
Since completion, the facility has shown significant performance improvements, including a 38% reduction in electrical energy use despite an 11% increase in total space. This was driven by upgraded mechanical systems and improvements to the building envelope.
"This project showcases our team's commitment to quality, innovation, and partnership," said Jason Emord, Vice President and Project Executive at Timberline. "Our dedicated team worked together with design partners Ci Design and Vanderweil Engineers to deliver a facility we're proud of." The award highlights Timberline's expertise in delivering complex projects for clients in healthcare, research, and innovation.
