oward Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) has appointed Jose Bustamante as President of the Nevada Region, effective December 1, 2024. In this role, he will lead the acclaimed Howard Hughes community of Summerlin in Las Vegas, one of the best places to live in the country with nearly 127,000 residents and approximately 5,000 acres remaining for future growth.
Bustamante brings two decades of experience in leading high-performing real estate organizations, including large-scale commercial and mixed-use communities. His career includes projects totaling seven million square feet of buildings and 700 acres of land valued at $5 billion. "Jose's extensive leadership experience distinguishes him in the industry," said David O'Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Howard Hughes.
Summerlin is a top-selling community nationwide with thousands of acres dedicated to parks, trailways, and open spaces. The community offers more amenities than any other in Nevada, including Downtown Summerlin, a walkable urban core. "I am excited to join Howard Hughes and collaborate alongside our innovative team to advance the positive momentum that has made Summerlin one of our country's premier communities," said Bustamante.
Before entering the real estate industry, Bustamante served as a United States Army Military Intelligence Officer and earned degrees from West Point and Columbia University. About Summerlin, a Howard Hughes community, began taking shape in 1990 and has ranked in the top 10 best-selling master planned communities for nearly two decades.
