T
he Queen of Versailles' Tribeca penthouse duplex has hit the market for $11.95 million, a significant reduction from its original asking price of $19.5 million in January 2024. The property was purchased by Jackie Siegel and her late husband David Siegel in 2023 for $8.7 million.
"It's a spectacular apartment, but it was overpriced," said listing broker Thomas Hochfelder of Douglas Elliman. "You can't overprice in this market." The penthouse features an open eat-in kitchen with an extra-long breakfast bar and a cozy lounge area perfect for entertaining.
Jackie Siegel gained international attention with the construction of her 90,000-square-foot Orlando home, Versailles, which was chronicled in the award-winning documentary "The Queen of Versailles." The property is still under construction and estimated to be worth around $100 million when completed. However, construction has been delayed due to economic troubles and natural disasters.
In a recent interview, Jackie Siegel expressed her intention to use Versailles for charity events and to raise awareness about drug addiction, which she believes will help her cope with the pain of loss following the deaths of her husband and sister. The Tribeca penthouse is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home with 3,924 square feet of living space and great outdoor areas.
The property features an elegant open dining area, custom herringbone floors, and high ceilings. The kitchen boasts a sculptural marble staircase leading to an 850-square-foot landscaped terrace with a summer kitchen, lights, and speakers. Building amenities include a rooftop park, indoor/outdoor kitchens, a lap pool, and a gym.
The limestone and granite building dates back to the early 1900s and was added to the National Historic Registry in 1982. It has been converted into condos since 2013, with the original "grand banking hall" now serving as an immersive art space called Hall des Lumières.
