KR has appointed Guy Metcalfe, a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience at Morgan Stanley, as a senior adviser for global real estate. In this role, he will leverage his capital markets expertise and extensive network to support KKR's investment activity and drive growth.

Metcalfe spent 33 years at Morgan Stanley, where he led the firm's real estate investment banking business for over two decades, including a stint as global chairman. During his tenure, he was involved in transactions worth more than $850 billion. After leaving Morgan Stanley in January 2024, Metcalfe joined several boards, including CBRE and Prologis.

"We look forward to benefiting from Guy's valuable perspective as we continue to grow our platform," said KKR Chairman of Real Assets Ralph Rosenberg. "His expertise will be invaluable in navigating the current market environment."

Metcalfe cited KKR's global reach, operating expertise, and transactional capabilities as key factors in his decision to join the firm. The appointment comes on the heels of KKR combining its infrastructure and real estate divisions under a single umbrella, with the goal of capitalizing on investment opportunities that span both sectors.

The combined operation will manage $157 billion worth of assets, including equity and credit, according to Bloomberg. This move follows KKR's recent acquisition, alongside Canada's Public Sector Pension Investment Board, of a 19.9% stake in three power transmission companies for $2.8 billion.
