A
billionaire and former associate of Jeffrey Epstein has reportedly purchased Blue Heron Farm, a Chilmark property that was once visited by the Obama family. The buyer is tied to Les Wexner's family, with Matthew Zeiger listed as the trustee in the property deed. Zeiger is based in New Albany, Ohio, where Wexner lives and has developed much of the area.
The sale, which broke the Island's record for a residential sale at $37 million, was recorded on July 10 at the Dukes County Registry of Deeds. The four properties on Cobbs Hill Road were granted to the Blue Heron Farm Nominee Trust, a type of transaction that allows the buyer's identity to remain private under Massachusetts law.
Wexner has had significant entrepreneurial success and philanthropic efforts in Ohio, but his ties to Epstein have also drawn public scrutiny. Wexner cut ties with Epstein in 2007 after allegations of abuse surfaced, but there have been claims he was aware of Epstein's actions against young women, which Wexner denies.
The properties were listed by MGS Group and Corcoran Property Advisors, but agents Maggie Gold Seelig and Brian Dougherty did not respond to requests for comment. Zeiger also declined to comment on the sale.
