As of October 14th, Leelanau County saw a total of 45 homes sold in September, with a combined value of $31.9 million. This mirrors the numbers from September 2023, when 44 homes were sold for $33.8 million. However, this year's average sale price of $710,257 is lower than last year's $767,188. The median home price did increase to $570,000, surpassing the previous year's median of $514,500.
In contrast to Leelanau County, overall sales in the five-county area declined due to a decrease in Grand Traverse County sales, while Benzie saw an uptick and Antrim and Kalkaska experienced slight drops.
Year-to-date, 275 homes have been sold in Leelanau County, roughly matching the totals from the past two years. This is a significant drop from previous highs, such as the 406 homes sold in 2021. The current sales volume of $223 million yields an average sale price of $810,931, the highest on record.
