A
fairytale castle in the American Midwest has just had its price reduced by $500,000. The 9,470-square-foot estate, built in 1992 by businessman Deon Heiner, is now on the market for $13.5 million.
Heiner's Wyoming castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany and features towers, turrets, ramparts, and lookouts reminiscent of a royal residence. The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom brick castle took eight years to build, with over 1 million bricks used in its construction.
The property boasts an impressive underground tunnel system with secret entrances, as well as a stainless steel spiral staircase leading to the tallest turret, which reaches 100 feet into the air and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding forest and mountains. The estate's 37 acres feature walking and biking trails, a brick perimeter, and a helipad for easy access.
Inside, the castle has modern amenities such as large windows, imported stone floors with in-floor heating, and a secure vault room. Other features include a rampart greenhouse, game room, and gym. The property's listing agent, Patty Speakman, describes it as "a beautiful location" with sweeping vistas and relative seclusion.
