On October 2, 2025, 32‑year‑old Daniel Moreno was arrested in Riverside County after allegedly attacking a real‑estate agent at a vacant home on Butterfly Way. Banning Police received a call at about 6:40 p.m. that a victim—an agent whose identity was withheld—had sustained serious injuries. Moreno fled the scene in a Hyundai Elantra, refusing a traffic stop. Police pursued him through Banning streets, onto the 10 and 60 Freeways, and into Moreno Valley. A successful PIT maneuver near Frederick Street and Atlantic Circle ended the chase, and Moreno was taken into custody at the scene.
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office filed charges including attempted murder, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon (keys), assault, false imprisonment, and reckless evading of a peace officer. Moreno, a resident of Corona, is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was reported by KCAL News and CBS News Live.
