he Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) is hosting Construction Inclusion Week 2024, a celebration of inclusive workplaces that supports diverse businesses and workforces. The week-long event, taking place from October 15-18, will feature educational sessions, networking opportunities, and a stand down to promote diversity and inclusion.
The week kicks off with the AGC MA Diversity Summit on October 15 at Bentley University's LaCava Conference Center. This year's keynote speaker is Bob Nelson, District Director of the Small Business Association of Massachusetts. A panel discussion featuring leading construction managers and diverse business leaders will follow.
On October 16, AGC MA's Building Women in Construction (BWiC) and Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (CFDI) are hosting an open house at Trillium Brewery in Canton, MA. The event will highlight volunteer opportunities within both groups, which work to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in the construction industry.
AGC MA is also offering two educational sessions during Construction Inclusion Week. A webinar on October 16, "The Benefits of Psychological Safety," will explore the business case for promoting inclusion and respect through psychological safety. A two-part workshop, "DEI: Respecting Other People's Model of the World," will take place on October 17 and 18, empowering participants to understand and respect diverse perspectives.
On October 18, AGC MA is hosting a Standdown for Respect at the Boston College High School project led by Lee Kennedy Company. This event aims to promote diversity on the jobsite and highlight the importance of inclusion in the trades.
