Rolling Stones devotee has just taken ownership of Mick Jagger’s former London flat, paying $7.3 million as reported by Mansion Global. The sub‑penthouse, located in a prestigious corner of Central London, was Jagger’s base during the band’s meteoric rise in the 1960s. The new proprietor, a British man in his thirties who describes himself as a Stones fan, will call the four‑bedroom, 2,495‑sq‑ft Edwardian‑style residence his London pied‑a‑terre.
The property first appeared on the market in March after 30 years of private ownership and closed in under 16 weeks. Jagger rented the apartment in 1965, a pivotal year when “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Get Off My Cloud” catapulted him to fame. The flat became the epicenter of raucous parties co‑hosted with Keith Richards and the birthplace of Jagger’s romance with Marianne Faithfull, a relationship that dominated gossip columns until their split in 1970.
Inside, the home retains its Edwardian charm with parquet floors, French windows, and soaring 10‑foot ceilings. A wide balcony stretches across the façade, while the layout includes two reception rooms, a home cinema, a library, and a formal dining area that opens onto the terrace via French doors. The primary bedroom boasts built‑in wardrobes and a bay window, and the marble‑lined ensuite adds a touch of luxury. A media room and a “hippie chill‑out lounge” – the very space Jagger used to unwind – remain intact, and the new owner is expected to keep the lounge’s relaxed vibe alive.
Rosy Khalastchy, director of Beauchamp Estates’ St. John’s Wood office, told The Post that the buyer discovered the property while searching for a home in Marylebone. “The Jagger penthouse is in extremely good condition,” she said. “The buyer will be able to move in immediately without needing to do any refurbishments or paint work.”
The flat’s history extends beyond the 1960s; the Stones released “Paint it Black” and other hits while Jagger resided there, before he and Faithfull relocated to nearby Belgravia in 1968. The buyer, whose identity remains confidential, plans to use the property as a stylish base in London. While his status as a true Rolling Stones fan could not be confirmed, he reportedly cites “Move Like Jagger” as his favorite Jagger tune—a playful nod to Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.”
