acob Arabo, a renowned Uzbekistan-born jeweler to the stars, has purchased a $4.72 million luxury home at 53 W. 53rd St. in Midtown for his son. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence boasts stunning views and sleek modern design, courtesy of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel and interior designer Thierry Despont.
Arabo's high-end jewelry business, Jacob & Co., has attracted A-list clients like Madonna, Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, and Tom Brady. In fact, he recently sold two watches for $3 million each – a price tag that dwarfs the cost of his son's new apartment. To put it into perspective, Arabo's watches are worth more than most people spend on their homes.
The 2,051-square-foot apartment features 11-foot ceilings, a formal entry gallery, and a corner great room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The main bedroom suite comes with a spa-like bath and walk-in closet, while the kitchen is equipped with custom lighting and motorized shades.
Arabo already owns a $16.1 million residence at 432 Park Ave., which he purchased in 2016 for his wife Angela. His son's new apartment was previously listed for $5.6 million before being sold to Arabo through Douglas Elliman's Shari Rollins, Renee Micheli, Jade Chan, and Frances Katzen.
