ravis Kalanick's downtown NYC penthouse duplex is quietly on the market for an eye-watering $150,000 per month, making it the city's most expensive rental residence. The billionaire founder of Uber has listed his 6,655-square-foot full-floor spread at 565 Broome St., but it hasn't been publicly advertised, a move known as a "whisper listing."
This luxurious pad takes second place to another high-end rental, asking $140,000 per month, which is publicly listed and located in the Plaza Hotel. Kalanick's penthouse boasts its own private pool on the roof of Soho's tallest building, a 30-story curved glass-walled tower designed by Renzo Piano.
The four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom home features three terraces with panoramic city views, a private elevator landing, and a foyer that leads to a great room with high ceilings. The space also includes a library, wet bar, and two terraces overlooking Soho. A separate open entertaining area has a living room, dining room, windowed eat-in kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows with skyline views.
The second floor features the main bedroom suite with large walk-in closets, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a spa-like bath. The top floor boasts a 2,500-square-foot roof terrace with a pool and outdoor kitchen. Building amenities include automated parking, a landscaped conservatory, curated libraries, dining area, and catering kitchen.
Kalanick purchased the penthouse for $36.5 million in 2019 after selling 90% of his Uber shares for $2.5 billion that same year. Fellow owners in the building include tennis star Novak Djokovic and author Mary Trump, president-elect Donald Trump's niece.
