Palm Beach estate sells for $24 million after major renovation

Couple sells Palm Beach home for $24 million after major 1970s-era renovation.

A
1970s-era house on Palm Beach's North End has been sold for a recorded $24 million to a Colorado limited liability company named The Four Z's LLC, linked to real estate investor Bren Simon. The property at 200 Tradewind Drive was completely renovated by its previous owners, Anthony and Vanessa Beyer, with the help of architects Jeffery Smith and Isay Weinfeld. The renovation transformed the original brick exterior and tropical accents into a sleek contemporary-style residence.

The four-bedroom house now boasts 6,376 square feet of living space, including a flat roof, white-stucco finish, sliding-glass doors, and reworked interiors that open up the floorplan. The property was last sold in July 2014 for $3.95 million and has undergone significant changes since its original construction in 1971.

Bren Simon is a real estate investor with ties to Indiana, where her late husband Melvin Simon co-founded Simon Property Group. She has deep roots in Palm Beach County, having donated their Indiana estate to charity after Melvin's death in 2009. The Simons were known for building the oceanfront Ritz-Carlton hotel on 7 acres in Manalapan and restoring Eastover, a mansion built by Harold Stirling Vanderbilt.

The Beyers' renovation of Villa Blanca added 825 square feet to the house and included a 250-square-foot pool pavilion. The project was approved by the Architectural Commission in 2016 after a split vote. Agent Margit Brandt of Premier Estate Properties represented the Beyers in the sale, while broker Lawrence Moens handled the buyer's side.

The property was listed for $26.9 million in mid-September and sold under contract by the end of December. Simon and the Beyers could not be immediately reached for comment.
