he University of Cincinnati's Real Estate Center celebrated its 34th annual dinner on June 11, honoring real estate students and Distinguished Real Estate Service Awardee Shenan Murphy. Over 600 attendees filled Cincinnati Music Hall to recognize the achievements of students, alumni, and industry professionals.
UC Real Estate Center Executive Director Carl Goertemoeller welcomed guests, thanking the center's Board of Executive Advisors in Real Estate (BEARE) for their support. He emphasized the center's mission: "to empower students to blaze their own trails in real estate through classroom experiences, company visits, mentorship, and more."
PNC Bank Senior Vice President Pam Weber expressed gratitude for the center's staff, faculty, and professors, highlighting how UC alumni contribute to PNC's success with their talent and passion. 2025 annual dinner chair Bill Williamson of Strauss Troy thanked sponsors and members of the Real Estate Advisory Council.
Lindner dean Marianne Lewis noted that the Real Estate Center is a catalyst linking UC with industry leaders, alumni, students, and community stakeholders. "The Real Estate Center exemplifies what we strive for at Lindner: bridging theory, practice, tradition, and innovation."
Gary Painter recognized 15 scholarship recipients and honored two recent graduates as outstanding undergraduate students of the year. Dean Misleh and Gwyneth Thomas were recognized for their achievements in co-op programs and leadership roles within the UC Real Estate Association.
The evening concluded with Murphy receiving the Distinguished Service Award. He shared his personal story, emphasizing the importance of seeking help and building relationships. "Relationships make a difference in your life," he advised students. "Take advantage of opportunities available to you at Lindner, UC, and the Real Estate Center."
Prior to the dinner, Murphy joined Dean Lewis on the Bearcats Mean Business podcast to discuss his journey, mentorship, and commitment to championing the region's future real estate professionals.
