eality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have reportedly lost their home in the Los Angeles wildfire that's been raging through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. According to TMZ, their house burned down on Tuesday morning, but the couple and their family were able to evacuate safely.
The fire, which started at 10:30 a.m. PT, has torn through over 2,900 acres of land, including several homes, with zero containment as of Tuesday night. California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency due to the devastating blaze.
Spencer Pratt was seen recording video of the fire on his phone and even posted footage of planes dumping water onto nearby flames before being evacuated. The couple is said to be "devastated" by the loss of their home, which was at the epicenter of the blaze.
Other celebrities, including James Woods, have also been affected by the fire, with many residents forced to evacuate their homes in the Pacific Palisades area. A red flag warning has been issued for much of Southern California until Wednesday, and local officials are urging people to "evacuate now" due to the high risk of the fire spreading.
As evacuees fled the area, traffic jams formed on the roads out of the hillside community, with many abandoning their cars in the process. Fire crews had to bulldoze some of these vehicles to clear a path for emergency responders. Actor Steven Guttenberg made an impassioned plea on local news station KTLA, asking people who left their cars behind to leave their keys so they could be moved out of the way.
The fire has also prompted a state of emergency declaration from California Governor Gavin Newsom, with parts of Malibu under evacuation orders as well.
