RE/MAX Premier Expands in Chicagoland with Acquisition of 5 Compass Offices

RE/MAX Expands in Greater Chicago with New Upscale North Shore Offices.

R
E/MAX Premier Chicago has made a significant move in the Chicago suburbs, acquiring five former Compass offices across high-end North Shore suburbs. The acquisition marks a major expansion for RE/MAX in the greater Chicago area and comes as Compass posted record earnings last quarter.

The new offices will be located in Lake Forest, Highland Park, Glencoe, Winnetka, and Glenview, areas known for their high median listing and sales prices. For instance, the typical home price in Lake Forest is $1.4 million, according to Realtor.com data. The transition from Compass to RE/MAX will be completed by October 13.

The acquisition doubles the number of offices that RE/MAX Premier operates in the Chicago area, bringing the full strength of the RE/MAX brand to one of the most prestigious real estate markets in the Midwest. According to Janice Corley, broker/owner, this move signals a pivot from the Compass brokerage model to a more agent-centric approach.

RE/MAX was founded to empower entrepreneurial agents, giving them the freedom to run their business as they see fit with the support of a brokerage owner who is truly invested in their success. The acquisition comes as Compass has aggressively pushed its 3-phased marketing strategy and "Private Exclusives" effort in major markets across the country.

Compass recently announced record earnings, but may have reduced its brick-and-mortar presence in Chicago's North Shore due to its takeover of @properties Christie's International Real Estate. The company remains committed to serving the North Shore community through nearby offices.
