Scott Rudin's NYC Townhouse Sold After Prolonged Price Negotiations

Rudin's West Village Property Sells for $19.75 Million After $6.25 Million Discount.

H
ollywood producer Scott Rudin has sold his downtown Manhattan townhouse at 22 Bank St. in the West Village for $19.75 million, a significant discount from the original asking price of $26 million.

Rudin and his husband, Broadway publicist John Barlow, initially listed the property in 2023 with an asking price of $26 million, but it underwent multiple rounds of price cuts before selling at its current price. The 4,000-square-foot townhouse was built between 1844 and 1845 and features airy interiors, a parlor level with 11-foot ceilings, and a great room with two fireplaces.

The property boasts a spacious chef's kitchen with two dishwashers, a formal dining room with a gas fireplace, and a primary suite on the top floor complete with a dressing room and a terrace overlooking neighboring townhouse gardens. The cellar level can accommodate a gym or yoga studio.

Rudin purchased the townhouse from former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter in 2019 for $17.4 million. He has won multiple awards for his work, including Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Tonys. However, he faced controversy in 2021 following allegations of abusive behavior towards staff members.

The new owner purchased the property via a limited liability company, but their identity could not be immediately confirmed. Corcoran's Deborah Grubman represented the listing, which declined to comment on the deal.
