ellow Industries, a San Francisco-based coffee-focused consumer products firm, has significantly expanded its office space with a 35,000-square-foot sublease at 2525 16th Street in the Mission District. The nine-year sublease from design services firm Ideo was reportedly secured without disclosing financial terms. This new hub is roughly five times larger than Fellow's previous headquarters at 560 Alabama Street.
The company has also leased an additional 14,000 square feet of R&D offices next door at 375 Alabama Street, bringing its total office space in the area to nearly 50,000 square feet. Fellow sells a range of products, including coffee makers and tea kettles, and operates two retail stores in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Ideco's direct lease for the entire building expires in 2034, and the property was purchased by former San Francisco Building Inspection Commissioner Angus McCarthy in 2017 for nearly $70 million. The Lion Building, built in 1924, is also home to Embark, an autonomous trucking startup that leases 52,800 square feet.
