Sioux City Council Approves Wetmore Building Revitalization Plan

he City of Sioux City is pushing forward with plans to revitalize the old Wetmore building and the site where the former Sioux City Auditorium stood. The city council has accepted a proposal from Tri-State Real Estate Development to purchase the property at 615 and 625 Douglas Street in downtown Sioux City.

    Tri-State's plan involves transforming the old Wetmore Building into an apartment complex with commercial space on the ground floor, accompanied by a green space and additional parking. The next step is for the interim city manager to negotiate the sale details.
