Tackling the Trust Issue

Hear NAR CEO Nykia Wright on the latest Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered podcast with James Dwiggins & Keith Robinson.

N
ykia Wright, CEO of the National Association of REALTORS®, opens up on the latest “Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered” episode, hosted by James Dwiggins and Keith Robinson. She explains how the association is tackling its biggest challenges by launching a fresh three‑year Strategic Plan aimed at delivering tangible financial and career benefits for every member.

Wright details the sweeping human‑resources overhaul she’s implemented—from the top executive ranks down through the entire organization. She also shares the ongoing struggle to rebuild trust after a year of listening, and her enthusiasm for moving forward with clear purpose and accountability across 24 initiatives outlined in the plan.

The strategy was presented to stakeholders in the weeks before NAR’s annual conference, NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience, and received unanimous approval from the Executive Committee. “When I say we’re modeling ourselves after a publicly traded company, I mean we set a milestone for each quarter,” she says. “Each quarter, we brief the Executive Committee on progress, challenges, and where we need their support.”

While the plan covers the who, what, when, where, and why, Wright stresses that real change requires three core foundations: a transparent budget that members can review and understand, robust legal‑risk management in rulemaking, and the best data available to inform decisions.
