ollywood superstar Mahesh Babu is facing fresh legal trouble over a real estate fraud case. The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Forum has issued notices to the actor, Sai Surya Developers, and its owner Kancherla Satish Chandragupta in connection with allegations of cheating customers through unauthorized ventures.
The complainants, including middle-class families and professionals, claim they were misled by advertisements featuring Mahesh Babu's image. They purchased plots worth Rs 34.80 lakh each in Balapur village, but later discovered the layout did not exist. The developers allegedly promised to deliver the plots as advertised, but only refunded Rs 15 lakh after repeated demands.
The victims argue that Mahesh Babu's presence in the brochures added credibility to the venture and influenced their decision to purchase the lands. The Ranga Reddy Consumer Forum has summoned all three respondents to appear on Monday to determine their accountability.
A recent Enforcement Directorate raid revealed that Mahesh Babu was paid Rs 5.90 crore as brand ambassador for Sai Surya Developers, including Rs 2.50 crore in cash. After being summoned by the ED, Mahesh Babu requested more time due to shooting commitments.
