T
he Sullivan family, owners of LAcarGuy, is moving forward with plans to demolish the nation's oldest Toyota dealership on Hollywood Boulevard and replace it with a 501,500-square-foot retail village. A new environmental study has been conducted in support of the project, which will see the 67-year-old Toyota of Hollywood at 6000 West Hollywood Boulevard torn down.
The proposed development includes a 35-story, 350-unit apartment tower with ground-floor retail, as well as 11 townhomes and a six-story office building. The village will feature shops and restaurants on two levels connected to outdoor dining areas and public plazas. To meet affordable housing requirements, 44 units of the apartments will be set aside for very low-income households.
The mixed-use project, designed by OfficeUntitled, will have a sleek glass exterior with gray townhomes and include 23,500 square feet of publicly accessible open space. Amenities will include a pool deck, view deck, fitness areas, and game rooms. The developer, 6000 Hollywood Boulevard Associates LLC, is backed by Hines, a Houston-based company.
Pending approvals, construction could begin as early as 2026, with completion expected in 2029. Toyota of Hollywood, founded in 1957, will be redeveloped into a vibrant mixed-use destination that adds to the community's vitality through new housing, retail, and office space.
