Artefacto, a luxury furnishings and staging company from South Florida, opens its first NYC location on Madison Avenue.

A
rtefacto, a luxury furnishings and staging company based in South Florida, has expanded to New York City with a flagship store at 149 Madison Avenue. The two-story, 15,000-square-foot space is led by Artefacto's twin sons, Pietro and Bruno Bacchi. The company has partnered with developers Steve Witkoff and Len Blavatnik on One High Line, furnishing seven units in the complex. One of these units is already under contract, with the buyer opting to purchase the furniture selected by Artefacto.

Developers appreciate Artefacto's staging program because it allows them to recoup their deposits if buyers choose not to keep the furniture. Bacchi notes that luxury clients often prefer immediate gratification due to long wait times for furniture delivery, which can now take up to six months. Artefacto has a strong reputation in South Florida, having furnished high-end homes and hospitality spaces like Casa Cipriani and Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc.

In 2023, homes staged by Artefacto sold for $500 million. The company has also ventured into real estate, recently selling a fully furnished Palm Island spec home in Miami Beach for $11.8 million. Artefacto aims to leverage its relationships with New York developers to expand its presence in the market. This move follows a trend of South Florida and New York markets becoming increasingly interconnected due to pandemic-fueled migration.

Artefacto is not alone in expanding in New York City, as outdoor furniture maker Vondom has also signed a lease in the Garment District building.
