illow Group’s third‑quarter results reaffirm its status as a financial overachiever. Total revenue hit $676 million, a 16 % jump YoY and above the company’s own forecast, driven by strong rentals and mortgage segments. Rentals generated $174 million, up 41 %; mortgage income rose 36 % to $53 million. The core residential arm added 7 % to $435 million. Net profit reached $10 million, marking the third straight profitable quarter.
CEO Jeremy Wacksman said the quarter demonstrates Zillow’s commitment to simplifying buying, selling, financing and renting, and that the firm is steering the industry toward a more transparent, consumer‑first model. CFO Jeremy Hofmann noted the growing “external noise” surrounding the company, likely alluding to recent litigation and debates over exclusive listings, including Zillow’s private‑listing ban.
Digital traffic continued its upward trend, averaging 250 million unique visitors across Zillow Group sites and apps in Q3, up 7 % YoY. Total visits reached 2.5 billion, a 4 % increase year‑over‑year. Cash and investments stood at $1.4 billion at September’s close, up from $1.2 billion in June.
Key financial metrics: Adjusted EBITDA rose to $165 million in Q3, up from $127 million a year earlier. Net income swung to a $10 million gain, improving on the $2 million profit in Q2 and the $20 million loss a year ago.
This marks the third consecutive year Zillow has outpaced market forecasts, underscoring its resilience amid a competitive real‑estate landscape. The company’s cash reserves provide a solid buffer for future initiatives, and leadership remains focused on growth and innovation despite regulatory scrutiny.
Looking ahead, Zillow projects Q4 revenue between $645 million and $655 million, implying high single‑digit YoY growth.
