The P&P Group is significantly involved in the urban development of Fürth through the realisation of projects on Gebhardtstraße and on the former Hornschuch Campus. These initiatives aim to revitalise areas formerly used for commercial or industrial purposes and to create sustainable living spaces. They combine living, working, and communal uses. The focus is on developing urban quarters that generate long-term added value for the city and its residents.
New Residential Quarter on Gebhardtstraße
The area at Gebhardtstraße 33–35, formerly the site of the Muecke Outlet, is being redeveloped after its relocation to FLAIR Fürth. The existing building will be demolished to make way for residential construction. Here, the P&P Group is planning a modern residential quarter with approximately 250 flats and a total living area of around 6,200 square metres. Originally conceived as student accommodation, it will now become an apartment complex appealing to a broader spectrum of urban target groups. This project integrates into the P&P Group's existing commitment along Gebhardtstraße, where the company has already successfully completed several property projects, including a hotel.
The design of the new residential offering focuses on modern apartments that meet the increasing demand for compact, high-quality equipped living spaces in urban locations. The offering is complemented by larger residential units, ensuring a balanced housing mix. Regarding ecological and energy standards, Eva-Maria Zurek, CEO of the P&P Group, stated that sustainable living goes far beyond merely creating housing and must be ecologically responsible, energy-efficient, and economically sustainable. These demands are being met on Gebhardtstraße with the planned implementation of KfN-QNG EH 40 Plus and NaWoh standards. Additionally, the architectural appearance and external impact of the building will be revised to strengthen its urban integration. Optimisation of the underground car park and the examination of modern parking systems are intended to ensure efficient use of space.
Central Homes Fürth: Transformation of the Hornschuch Campus
On the former Hornschuch Campus, “Central Homes Fürth” is emerging as one of the largest urban development projects in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. With a planned sales volume of approximately 240 million EUR, this undertaking represents the largest project in the P&P Group's more than 30-year company history. On an area of around 25,000 square metres, a modern urban quarter with a total of approximately 1,000 flats will be realised. The gross floor area of about 45,000 square metres includes an urban residential ensemble with various uses, including a kindergarten, age-appropriate housing options for seniors, and apartments. This diverse combination creates a vibrant quarter for different generations and lifestyles.
The P&P Group has been developing the area for approximately eight years and has already laid essential foundations for the quarter's development, including comprehensive infrastructure development and a car park with about 400 parking spaces. The location in the immediate vicinity of the train station and its connection to the metropolitan region make Central Homes equally attractive for families, commuters, students, and seniors. Construction work is currently in an intensive phase, with approximately 80 shell construction specialists and four cranes in use. The completion of about 800 residential units is scheduled for the end of 2029, with the full realisation of the quarter by the end of 2031.
A special element of the quarter is the listed locomotive shed from 1860. After acquisition by P&P founder Michael Peter in 2016, measures to secure and preserve the historic building fabric are being prepared. The locomotive shed is intended to develop into a vibrant, intergenerational meeting place. Approximately 350 square metres are planned for a multifunctional event hall, workshop and group rooms, and leisure activities for young people. Michael Peter emphasised that the locomotive shed will preserve a piece of Fürth's identity and create a place for culture, education, community, and social participation. The planning and implementation of this project are expected to continue until 2029.
