Premier Inn has opened its second Lake Constance location, after Lindau, in Konstanz. The new hotel, the group's 76th operation in Germany, is located in the newly developed Stromeyersdorf area. This expansion underscores the strategic interest in established tourist and business locations in Southern Germany. The opening marks a substantial expansion of the hotel offering in the Lake Constance region.
The new building comprises six storeys and houses a total of 198 rooms. Of these, 23 are designed as larger Premier Inn Plus rooms, which are located on the top floor. For guest mobility, 40 parking spaces are available on the hotel premises, both covered and uncovered. Additionally, four E-charging stations have been installed to meet the demands of modern infrastructure.
Location Factors and Accessibility
The location of the new Premier Inn Konstanz is strategically advantageous. It is just a five-minute walk from Lake Constance, offering direct access to the lakeside promenade. The historic old town can be reached via this promenade in approximately 30 minutes on foot. A bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel, ensuring connectivity to public transport and facilitating exploration of the city and the wider Lake Constance region.
The operational management of the new site is the responsibility of Tobias Thienger, who already manages the Premier Inn in Lindau and now acts as Multi-Site Hotel Manager. He is supported by Christelle Schatz-Wittrock, who leads the local team as Assistant Hotel Manager. Erik Friemuth, CEO of Premier Inn Germany, emphasised the particular importance of the Konstanz location in this context. He highlighted that the city combines a high quality of life, international appeal, and a unique geographical location on Lake Constance.
Attractiveness of the Konstanz Location
Konstanz is characterised as one of the most attractive cities in Southern Germany. This attractiveness results from several factors that are relevant for both holidaymakers and business travellers. The city benefits from its prominent location directly on Lake Constance and its immediate proximity to Switzerland. The presence of a renowned university also contributes to its dynamism, as does a diverse range of cultural and leisure activities. These conditions form a solid basis for the successful operation of a hotel.
