Rolf Doetsch's hospitality portfolio, born from the vision of creating formative places, will in future be managed under the umbrella brand RD UNIQUE PLACES. This brand architecture is intended to make the connection between the individual establishments visible and provide a structural framework for their continued development. The portfolio comprises hotels, restaurants, event venues and retreats developed over the years, serving an international clientele.
Phillip Doetsch, authorised signatory of PURS FineHotels & Restaurants, emphasised that despite their individual characteristics, the properties are united by a common ethos. This ethos encompasses authenticity, cultural connection and the ambition to appeal to guests with hospitality and experiences.
Origin and Portfolio
The development began with a project that holds personal significance for Phillip Doetsch: the careful transformation of the former Electoral Bishop's Chancery from 1677 into the boutique hotel PURS. This transformation was carried out by his parents Rolf and Petra Doetsch in collaboration with designer Axel Vervoordt. PURS combines historic character with timeless design and laid the foundation for the philosophy and quality standards that define the family's subsequent projects.
From this initial project, a diverse world of hospitality evolved. The current portfolio includes several properties that are united under the new umbrella brand, each with its own focus.
- —PURS Luxury Boutique Hotel
- —PURS Nordic Japanese Michelin-starred restaurant
- —Asian-inspired restaurant YOSO
- —Italian restaurant Ai Pero
- —Classic Boutique Hotel Am Ochsentor
- —Hammesmühle
- —Convent as a venue for conferences, indulgence, encounters and relaxation
Phillip Doetsch underscored the necessity of a common, visible home that connects the values of the establishments and makes their cohesion tangible, even though each property possesses its own character and history.
Future-Oriented Development
The Doetsch family plans to continue its growth trajectory. Further hospitality projects are currently being planned, which are deliberately to be located in Andernach and the surrounding region. The aim is to develop places that consistently uphold the values of the new umbrella brand: authenticity, quality orientation, cultural embeddedness and timeless aesthetics. This strategy serves to further develop the founding family's original vision and strengthens the location where the success story of PURS and its associated hospitality concepts originated.
