LBBW Immobilien recently hosted the topping-out ceremony for the Rivage residential project in Mainz Zollhafen. This event celebrated the progress made on the shell construction works. Attendees included Nino Haase, Lord Mayor of Mainz, representatives from the developer LBBW Immobilien, the general contractor Nesseler Bau, as well as future owners and other project stakeholders.
The Rivage project envisages the creation of a total of 72 high-quality freehold flats, including three townhouses. The total living space will amount to approximately 6,200 square metres. Handover of the first residential units is planned for mid-2027. This ensemble is designed as a significant component of the quarter's development in Mainz Zollhafen, combining modern architecture with sustainable construction principles to create a high-quality residential offering.
The project's characteristic features include its direct location by the harbour basin, surrounding canals, and generous outdoor areas, which encompass terraces, loggias, balconies, and roof terraces. Landscaped open spaces contribute to enhancing the quality of stay and foster a pleasant microclimate in the quarter. The architectural design for Rivage comes from Zanderroth Architekten based in Berlin.
In a written message, Lord Mayor Nino Haase emphasised the necessity for new housing in Mainz, as underscored by current housing market reports. He highlighted that Rivage in Zollhafen makes a substantial contribution to the quarter's development by combining modern architecture, sustainable construction, and a special waterside location. Zollhafen thus demonstrates how Mainz can connect growth, quality of life, and the transformation of a historic harbour area.
From an ecological perspective, Rivage relies on future-proof solutions. The residential project aims for DGNB Gold certification. Energy supply is provided via a district heating connection and supplemented by a large-scale photovoltaic system. The project also meets the requirements of the EU Taxonomy and is being realised according to KfW-55 standards.
