Savills has reinforced its Capital Markets team at its Berlin office with Leiv Pfizenmaier and Max Andreae. Both are moving from PTXRE to Savills, where they will be responsible for the investment division. These new appointments underscore Savills' strategic focus on commercial investment in the Top 6 locations as well as on all Living asset classes, which include hotels, PBSA, residential, and healthcare.
Leiv Pfizenmaier will assume the position of Director Investment on 1 October 2026. In this role, he will further consolidate the company's presence in the Berlin investment market together with Prof. Dr. Tayfun Erbil, who has been Director Investment at Savills in Berlin since 2022. Mr. Pfizenmaier will report directly to Karsten Nemecek, Deputy CEO at Savills Germany. Max Andreae will strengthen the Investment team as a Consultant in the future.
Karsten Nemecek commented on the staffing expansions, stating that the strategic development of the Capital Markets division at the Berlin location would be purposefully driven forward with these new additions. He highlighted that with Leiv Pfizenmaier, an experienced investment specialist has been gained who possesses comprehensive market knowledge and a strong network of relevant market participants. His experience from numerous transaction processes and his expertise in the Berlin investment market are expected to strengthen the team and contribute to expanding its market position. Nemecek also emphasised that Pfizenmaier's experience offers clients additional perspectives and added value in complex transactions.
Experience and international focus
Leiv Pfizenmaier has almost ten years of experience in the real estate and investment sector. Before joining Savills, he worked as Director Transactions at PTXRE GmbH, where he managed nationwide transactions from Berlin. Prior to that, he spent over seven years in various Capital Markets positions at Colliers in Berlin and Frankfurt.
At the beginning of August 2026, the Savills Group significantly expanded its expertise in Investment Banking Services, including Debt and M&A Advisory, through the acquisition of Eastdil Secured Savills. This strengthening of capabilities benefits clients in Germany and across the entire EMEA region.
Leiv Pfizenmaier commented on the move, expressing his pleasure at taking this step to an international brand like Savills together with Max Andreae. He elaborated that in the current market environment, besides creativity and perseverance, the identification and understanding of active capital sources are paramount. Savills' international platform, especially a strong London Desk, as well as the nationally operating Capital Markets team, provide excellent coverage of relevant national and international capital sources.
