Sky Deutschland GmbH has prolonged the lease agreement for its corporate headquarters at Medienallee 26 in Unterföhring by ten years. This early extension underlines the media group's commitment to the site near Munich. Completed in 2010, the property comprises approximately 30,000 square metres of lettable space, which is entirely occupied by Sky Deutschland. The building is integrated into an established media and office cluster in Unterföhring and is considered one of the defining corporate locations in the Munich area.
Silverton Group took over the asset management during the negotiations and supervised the restructuring on the creditors' side. In close cooperation with insolvency administrator Béla Knof, from the international law firm White & Case LLP, a sustainable strategy for the office building was developed and implemented. This strategy aimed at securing and maintaining the value stability of the asset.
Strategic Decision-Making and Market Positioning
The lease extension process involved comprehensive advice from Savills, who supported the tenant throughout the entire procedure. A preliminary market sounding and a detailed examination of alternative locations ultimately led to the decision to remain in the existing property. The quality of the property and the offer structure were decisive factors.
