The renowned grand hotel Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof is commemorating its 150th anniversary, marking the opening of the establishment on 26 June 1876. Under the motto “150 Years of Shared Moments”, the hotel pays tribute to its long history as a central institution of Frankfurt hospitality, while also looking ahead to future developments. Since its founding, the Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof has shaped the city and served as a meeting place for generations of guests.
The Frankfurter Hof’s connection to the Main metropolis is evident in its role as a reception venue for numerous international personalities over decades. Prominent guests have included Jimmy Carter, Sophia Loren, Prince Philip, Steven Spielberg, Ken Follett and Hermann Hesse. This underscores the international appeal and continued relevance of the hotel in the realm of modern luxury hospitality in the heart of Frankfurt.

The Autorenbar presents a Founder’s Cocktail Selection, highlighting the bar culture of the establishment. These signature cocktails are based on historical recipes, originally developed by Steigenberger bar chiefs and modernly adapted. An example is the cocktail “Chez Heinz”, created in the Frankfurter Hof in 1953. With its ingredients of apple wine, vodka with apple extract, Curaçao and lemon bitters, it commemorates the legendary bar chief Heinz, who shaped bar culture for over three decades. Through these anniversary offers, the 150-year history of the Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof is brought to life for guests, creating a connection between past and present that reaffirms the establishment’s tradition as “the city’s living room” and “Frankfurt’s True Legend”.
