The Prism Group, parent company of the Sunday Hotels brand and formerly known as Oyo, has confirmed reports concerning the acquisition of 24 hotels from the portfolio of the insolvent Revo Group in Germany. This confirmation followed a publication by Hotel vor9, which had already covered the acquisition activities and communicated a list of the affected properties.
The official announcement from Sunday Hotels is dated 22 July 2026 and informs about the integration of the 24 properties into the company's existing German portfolio. Details regarding the financial terms or further operational specifics remain unclear. The communication primarily focuses on confirming the portfolio expansion.
The newly acquired hotel sites will be operated under management agreements. This approach allows Sunday Hotels direct operational control over the properties. The hotels can be booked through Sunday Hotels' own digital channels, websites and applications, as well as through established online travel agencies. This ensures a rapid market connection for the new properties.
Puneet Yadav, Senior Vice President and Head of Hotels for Germany and the UK at Sunday and Belvilla Hotels, commented in the press release on Germany's strategic importance for the company. He described the German market as a "cornerstone" of the European growth strategy. This statement underscores the assessment that there is "significant growth potential" for Sunday Hotels in Germany.
The transaction reflects continued consolidation in the German hotel market, particularly in the segment of properties owned by companies that have fallen into distress. For Sunday Hotels, this acquisition represents a substantial expansion of capacity and geographical reach within an important European economy. The decision to use management agreements indicates a desire for efficient integration and operational control of the properties, aiming to leverage synergies and increase market penetration.
