The upcoming 30th anniversary edition of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille, Europe's most traditional superyacht regatta, underscores Palma's lasting importance as a centre for international yachting. The event, scheduled for 2026, will once again offer a combination of sporting competition and owner-centric hospitality, which defines its character. Over the past three decades, the regatta's popularity has become well-established, reflected in this year's presence of one of the largest fleets of participants in its history.

In addition to returning participants, several debutants will also compete this year on the proven regatta course in Palma Bay. The organiser, Kate Branagh, expressed delight at the high number of participants for the 30th anniversary. A significant new feature is the regatta village layout, implemented by event partner Club de Mar-Mallorca. This layout allows all yachts to be positioned stern-to in close proximity to the main event tent, thereby revitalising the historic port atmosphere.

Structural Innovations and Prominent Participation

The 2026 regatta demonstrates the ability to preserve traditional elements while simultaneously responding to current developments. This is manifested in the inaugural introduction of a multihull class as well as a dedicated YYachts racing division. A total of five racing classes will compete, comprising a versatile fleet of classic and modern superyacht designs. Returning participants include the J-Class yachts Rainbow and Svea, which will compete against each other on a special up-and-down course in their dedicated class.

The exceptional quartet of multihulls, consisting of Allegra, Gaea, Highland Fling and Layla, will compete in their own class with experienced regatta sailors. Furthermore, superyachts such as the two-time winner Win Win, the Oyster Archelon, the 39-metre Cervo (designed by Tripp) and the 27-metre Atalante 1 (Hoek design), under new ownership, are returning. New to the regatta are the 58-metre Perini Navi ketch Burrasca (designed by Ron Holland), the 30.9-metre Wally Inco, the 30.5-metre Point Counter Point and the Swan 88 Spiip from Nautor Swan.

  • Six YYachts, including three Tripp designs: Lucid (23.80 m), Distancia (23.80 m), Bella (29.71 m).
  • Further YYachts: Judel/Vrolijk Beati (23.80 m), Brenta 80 Makai, Surge Projects Calabash (both 25.99 m).
  • The Calabash, designed by Javier Jaudenes, is the only returnee in this class after her debut in 2024.
  • The starting interval for YYachts is 60 seconds, in contrast to two minutes in the superyacht classes.

The regatta begins on Wednesday, 24th June, with registration, safety briefings and a welcome cocktail. Races start on Thursday, 25th June, with the Pantaenius Race, followed by the 30th Anniversary Owners' Gala Dinner at the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca. The Anniversary and St. Regis Races will be held on Friday and Saturday. In parallel, several partners and sponsors are celebrating their own anniversaries, including YYachts (10 years as a friend of the event), title sponsor Richard Mille and Carbo-Link (25 years), Marinepool (35 years) and Hoek (40 years).
