The management board of econeo Energy GmbH, a Cologne-based company specialising in heat pump contracting for residential and commercial properties, has been strengthened by Tilman Gartmeier since 1 July 2026. Mr Gartmeier is responsible for the business areas of Sales & Marketing, Project Management, and Finance in this role.
With Tilman Gartmeier, an experienced leader from the real estate industry joins the company's management. He possesses extensive expertise, which he demonstrated, among other things, as the founder and managing director of the project developer Cube Real Estate. He led this company from its founding in 2013 until January 2025.
In addition to Mr Gartmeier, the management board of econeo Energy GmbH consists of Thomas Müller, who founded the company in 2023, and Patrick Mexner. Mr Mexner, a physicist, is responsible for Technology and Product within the management board. This constellation highlights the company's interdisciplinary focus in the growing segment of energetic building refurbishment.
Focus on the heating transition in the building sector
Tilman Gartmeier explained his conscious decision to work in the field of the heating transition. He emphasised that almost three-quarters of homes in Germany are still heated with gas or oil, although modern building technology is already standard in new builds. He sees this not only as an outdated and climate-damaging situation, but also as a development that will entail significantly rising costs for owners and users in the long term.
Econeo Energy addresses this challenge through special contracting models. These are designed to lower initial investment hurdles for owners when switching to modern heating systems. For tenants and building users, these models aim to ensure long-term price stability in heat supply.
