TPG Real Estate Partners has agreed a strategic partnership with Madison International Realty. The aim of this collaboration is to further expand and optimise the Home & Co platform, which specialises in student accommodation and micro-living offerings. The international law firm Freshfields advised TPG Real Estate Partners throughout the transaction process.
As part of the agreement, Madison International Realty has acquired a substantial minority stake in Home & Co. TPG Real Estate Partners retains the majority shares in the company. The platform's existing management team will continue to be responsible for implementing the investment and operational strategy. This structure ensures continuity in leadership and operational direction.
Focus on growth and portfolio optimisation
The investment now made is intended to significantly support the platform's further growth. This includes optimising the existing portfolio and expanding into additional German university cities. Madison International Realty's strategic involvement strengthens the capital base and promotes the achievement of the defined growth targets.
Home & Co is an established real estate platform that encompasses the acquisition, management, and operation of its own portfolio of student accommodation and micro-living properties. The company currently manages 19 student-specific residential complexes in Germany. These properties have a total capacity of more than 3,500 beds and are located in significant university cities.
