Uppababy, a brand known for its distinctive prams, is relocating its retail premises within Brooklyn. The company, celebrated for its high-quality baby products, will occupy a 3,780 square foot retail space at 156 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. The property is owned by Owen Realty.

Uppababy plans to move next year from 90 Smith Street in Cobble Hill, where the company established a retail and service centre in Brooklyn around 2019. JLL brokered the transaction. JLL did not provide details on the exact lease term or the asking rent for the space. The average retail rent along the nearby Fulton Street was USD 190 per square foot in 2025, according to the latest retail report from the Real Estate Board of New York.

Strategic Relocation for Family Clientele

Bob Monahan, co-founder and CEO of Uppababy, commented on the strategic importance of the move: "Brooklyn is an important market for Uppababy, and this relocation allows us to build on the relationships we have developed with local families." He emphasised that Brooklyn Heights has a strong community of young and growing families. The Montague Street location offers the necessary space and accessibility to ensure the hands-on product experience and personalised service that characterise the brand's hubs.

Uppababy manufactures and distributes prams, car seats, high chairs, and other products for infants and toddlers. Its flagship product, the Vista V3 pram, is described as a "bestseller" on the company's website and costs USD 1,000.

Transaction Details

Jesse Wolff and Elijah Mehl of JLL represented the tenant, Uppababy, in this transaction. For the owner, Owen Realty, operating as Montague Realty Development Associates, Ryan Condren and George Danut, also from JLL, conducted the negotiations. A statement from Owen Realty was not yet available at the time of publication.

Jesse Wolff of JLL highlighted the advantages of the new location: "Montague Street offers the neighbourhood density, visibility, and accessibility beneficial to family-oriented retailers like Uppababy."
