The Association of German Property Managers (VDIV Deutschland) and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG are expanding their collaboration in the field of sustainability for the existing building stock. This expanded partnership foresees the introduction of a series of specialist publications aimed at assisting homeowners' associations (WEG), advisory boards, and professional property management companies with the systematic analysis, planning, and implementation of future-proof supply and building concepts.
The new series focuses on key issues that are gaining importance in property management practice. This includes the selection of suitable measures for specific buildings, economical financing, and the sustainable operation of solutions. Furthermore, necessary framework conditions before the decision-making process are addressed. The cooperation combines specialist energy sector knowledge with extensive experience from professional property management to offer reliable guidance for decisions within homeowners' associations.
Focus on Building-Integrated Photovoltaics
The inaugural publication in this series is a guide titled 'Building-Integrated Photovoltaics – A Guide for Homeowners' Associations'. It demonstrates the possibilities of self-consumption using solar installations on buildings and illuminates the specific aspects of photovoltaic projects in common ownership. The guide covers central assessment criteria, from the condition of the roof and electrical installation to static requirements, cable routing, and metering concepts, as well as financing options, insurance issues, operator roles, billing models, and the decision-making process.
- —Full feed-in
- —General electricity supply
- —Tenant electricity
- —Collective building supply
Furthermore, the publication classifies important operating concepts, including full feed-in as well as models for general electricity supply, tenant electricity, and collective building supply. Individual systems and plug-in solar devices are also considered. The publication thus serves as a practice-oriented basis for a realistic assessment of photovoltaic projects, the early identification of potential obstacles, and careful preparation for future decisions.
Outlook on Future Topics
The sustainability series is designed to successively address further relevant topics. Planned editions will deal with electric mobility, comprehensive energy management, and other important sustainability issues in the context of the building stock. This initiative underscores the joint commitment of VDIV and EnBW to fostering a more sustainable property landscape.
