The long-standing Georgia estate of the late Lynyrd Skynyrd founding member and guitarist, Gary Rossington, has been sold for $6.58 million. The property, known as 'Free Bird's Nest' in homage to the band's iconic song, originally encompassed approximately 68 acres in Milton. The Rossington family acquired the original seven-acre plot with the existing residence in 1997 for around $1 million and successively expanded it with nine separate parcels.
Dale Rossington, the musician's wife, had already sold the first 32 acres for $4.7 million in December of the previous year. The most recent transaction comprises the remaining 36 acres, the couple's main residence, Sargent Lake, and a guest house. These final sales mark the end of an era for the prominent property.
