Hilton and Reuben Brothers announce the signing of a management agreement for the conversion of a prime Miami Beach hotel into the “Waldorf Astoria Miami Beach”, marking the brand's debut in this market segment. The property, owned by Reuben Brothers, will undergo extensive renovation and repositioning before its planned reopening in winter 2027, after which it will be operated under Hilton's leadership. This agreement reflects the continued momentum in the growth of Hilton's luxury portfolio in sought-after destinations across the Americas.

Danny Hughes, President, Americas, Hilton, stated that the growing presence of luxury brands in Florida, from Orlando to South Florida, continues to resonate with travellers seeking bespoke experiences. Miami Beach is a globally renowned location with high demand for upscale hospitality. The partnership with Reuben Brothers aims to introduce the Waldorf Astoria in a manner that honours the city's character while setting new standards for modern luxury.

Location and Amenities

The property is located on a prime stretch of Collins Avenue, directly on the oceanfront. The location offers direct beach access as well as unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Miami skyline. Nestled in Miami Beach's luxury hotel district, renowned restaurants, nightlife, and cultural institutions of the area are within minutes' reach. 2201 Collins Avenue is considered one of Miami Beach's most historic addresses.

Kim Phoebus, COO of US Hotels at Reuben Brothers, emphasised that a pioneering restoration is planned in cooperation with Waldorf Astoria. The redesign of the 20-storey hotel, led by Reuben Brothers and designed by Avenue Interior Design, will combine the elegance and service of Waldorf Astoria with the vibrancy and cultural heritage of Miami Beach. Every room will feature a private balcony and ocean views. The public areas will offer exceptional gastronomy and elegant event spaces. These measures are seen as an enrichment for the local economy and community.

  • 348 renovated suites, each with ocean views, a balcony, and contemporary design.
  • A redesigned arrival experience, including a new lobby and the “Peacock Alley”.
  • A new gastronomic concept led by internationally acclaimed chefs.
  • A newly conceived spa and wellness experience, as well as a modernised fitness centre.
  • Renovations to the 48,000 square foot pool terrace, including private cabanas.

Dino Michael, Senior Vice President and Category Head at Hilton Luxury Brands, highlighted that Miami Beach provides an exceptional backdrop for Waldorf Astoria. The hotel will usher in a new chapter of elegance that honours the cultural energy, coastal beauty, and distinctive style of the destination. Miami Beach is recognised as a world-renowned destination, famous for its glamour, cultural vitality, and global appeal.

The initiative in Miami Beach exemplifies Reuben Brothers' commitment to investing in iconic locations and pioneering renovations. Furthermore, it continues the expansion of Hilton's luxury portfolio in globally sought-after destinations, similar to the recent investment in the Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch. The Waldorf Astoria Miami Beach will become part of Waldorf Astoria's global portfolio, which comprises 40 properties in leading destinations. Additionally, the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Miami in Downtown Miami is scheduled for 2028. The hotel strengthens Hilton's presence in Florida, where over 520 properties are currently operated.
