Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel under its namesake core brand, the Wyndham Frankfurt Niederrad, in Frankfurt am Main. This establishment marks a strengthening of the company's market position in Germany. The 4-star property positions itself in the upscale segment and adds 146 units to the hotel room capacity in the economic metropolis. The property is located in the Lyoner Quartier in Niederrad, a dynamically developing district south of the Main river. The location offers advantages due to its proximity to the Deutsche Bank Park, the Main riverbank, and the DFB-Campus, making the hotel ideal for business trips and sports-related events. Frankfurt Airport and the city centre are both approximately eight kilometres away and well-connected by public transport.
The hotel is operated by Windmill Niederrad GmbH, which acts as Wyndham's new franchise partner in the DACH region. As part of the rebranding to Wyndham, a comprehensive renovation of the property is planned for the next 18 months. This measure serves the continuous development of the offering for both business and leisure travellers. Dimitris Manikis, President EMEA at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, commented on the choice of location: Frankfurt is one of Germany's most dynamic metropolises and attracts both international business travellers and leisure guests. He emphasised that with the Wyndham Frankfurt Niederrad, the core brand is being established in the metropolitan region for the first time, expanding its presence in Germany together with a strong partner, while also extending the European portfolio in the upscale segment.
Frankfurt am Main is a significant international business hub and recorded over 15.5 million arrivals and 34.3 million overnight stays in 2025. The city is home to Messe Frankfurt, one of the world's largest trade fair organisers, and also attracts visitors with its striking skyline, historic old town, and Museumsufer. Raj Reddy, Managing Director of Windmill Niederrad GmbH, highlighted the importance of the partnership: The globally renowned Wyndham core brand, its quality standards, and its international reach are ideally suited to market the hotel globally. The strategic location near the airport and city centre appeals to a broad target group, including tourists, business travellers, and corporate clients.
The contemporary design of the Wyndham Frankfurt Niederrad extends throughout the six-storey building. The 146 rooms are divided into Queen and King categories, complemented by suites and an accessible room. A central atrium with a distinctive, free-hanging light installation serves as a focal point upon entering the hotel. The gastronomic offering includes a restaurant with regional cuisine, a bar, and an outdoor terrace. Three conference rooms are available for business meetings, including an event space of 159 square metres. Additionally, guests are offered a dedicated fitness area.
The global Wyndham brand is positioned in the upscale segment. It is known for integrating modern rooms, a distinctive gastronomic concept, and carefully planned meeting areas. A central element of the service culture is guest well-being. In Europe, Wyndham's namesake core brand, along with the associated brands Wyndham Grand and Wyndham Garden, is represented by more than 200 hotels in 16 countries. The opening in Frankfurt contributes to the further expansion of the brand's presence in the region.
