Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has strengthened its market presence in Saudi Arabia. The company opened the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Riyadh Al Nasiriyah, which introduces the Howard Johnson brand to the Kingdom's capital for the first time. The hotel, which began operations in August, is located in the Al Nasiriyah district and features 99 rooms.

The Howard Johnson by Wyndham Riyadh Al Nasiriyah was created through the comprehensive modernisation of the former Saudia Hotel. This established property had been a part of Riyadh's hotel landscape for over four decades. The renovation, completed in 2026, acknowledged the historical significance of the site. The modernisation measures included the redesign of the rooms, the upgrading of public areas, as well as the improvement of meeting facilities and an expansion of the culinary offering.

Facilities and Positioning

For business meetings and events, the hotel offers two flexibly configurable meeting rooms with a total area of 140 square metres. Further facilities include an outdoor pool with an integrated whirlpool, a fitness centre, and an all-day dining restaurant serving international cuisine. The hotel positions itself in the mid-scale segment and targets leisure and business travellers, as well as corporate clients.

The hotel's strategic location in the heart of the Saudi capital provides a base for business trips and for exploring Riyadh as a burgeoning cultural and travel destination. Significant cultural and historical attractions within easy reach include Al Murabba Palace and the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre with the National Museum. These destinations are key points of interest for visitors keen to learn about the Kingdom's history and cultural heritage. These cultural institutions are an integral part of Riyadh's growing tourism landscape, which is being continuously expanded as part of Saudi Vision 2030, positioning the capital as a destination for cultural tourism.

Strategic Expansion in Saudi Arabia

The opening of the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Riyadh Al Nasiriyah strengthens Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' growing presence in Riyadh. It is part of the company's broader expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the existing cooperation with Concept Towers Real Estate Limited is being deepened. Concept Towers Real Estate Limited already operates as the owner and operator of the Ramada by Wyndham Riyadh King Fahd Road. Further Wyndham projects are currently under development in Riyadh and in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.
