Volker Pohlschmidt has been appointed to the Executive Board of ZECH Bau SE, effective 22 June 2026. This includes specialist knowledge in various disciplines, including structural engineering, civil engineering, earthworks and foundation engineering, and timber construction.
Pohlschmidt's career began 29 years ago at the construction company Gemünden in Ingelheim. After training as a carpenter, he completed a degree in civil engineering at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 1997. His professional career is marked by numerous operational and management roles; most recently, he served as Managing Director. He played a significant role in shaping the development of Bauunternehmung Gemünden for many years.
Extensive Project Experience and Strategic Importance
Projects for which Pohlschmidt was responsible include the Mainz container port, the Grand Tower in Frankfurt am Main, the GIZ campus building in Eschborn, and construction projects for BRITA in Taunusstein. He also expanded the timber construction division and has experience in implementing complex joint ventures (ARGE projects) and collaborating with public clients.
