The Aareon Forum 2026, held from 2nd to 3rd September at the Penta Hotel Leipzig, focused on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the housing industry. The event served as a meeting point for users of Aareon ERP systems and offered a platform for exchanging views on current developments and future potential.
Oliver Luttmann, Managing Director of Aareon Deutschland GmbH, highlighted the rapid development in the field of AI. He referred to the successful market launch of the AI solution AAVA in Wodis Yuneo a year prior, which had received convincing feedback. This development underscored the speed with which further processes would be automated. A significant new feature was the AI-supported operating cost statement in the Wodis Yuneo ERP system. Mr Luttmann described this as an important milestone in process automation, made possible by a successful co-creation process.
Demands of the Working World and Employee Qualification
Professor Dr André Zänker, Professor of Real Estate Management at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, explored the role of AI in the context of a sustainable working world in his keynote speech. He addressed Generation Z's expectations regarding working methods, the work environment, and possible career paths in real estate companies. For this generation, digitalisation and AI are a given, making them relevant criteria when choosing a preferred employer.
Lars Thiwissen, Head of Sales at Aareon Deutschland, emphasised the need to empower employees for the effective use of AI. To fully exploit the potential of AI, the qualification of employees is crucial. For this reason, the 'AAVA Champion' programme was developed, which is currently being completed by a pilot group. This programme aims to certify participants through a combination of online course modules, workshops, and a company-specific use case in the field of AI and AAVA.
Practice-Oriented Applications and Networking
In addition to the plenary lectures, the Aareon Forum was characterised by practice-oriented software and AI application. In the exhibition area, participants could exchange ideas with experts from Aareon and partner companies. New solutions were presented interactively. In the AAVA Workshop, there was also the opportunity to directly test AAVA's functions.
The event clarified that the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the real estate industry is no longer a question of 'if', but is considered an established component of business processes. The comprehensive potential of integrated AI was highlighted, ranging from supporting employees to optimising customer service.
