On Munich's Neue Balan campus, in the area bordering Haidhausen, Allgemeine SÜDBODEN has brokered approximately 5,700 square metres of rental space in the newly constructed Haus 28 to DMC Production Germany. The company, specialising in sports TV productions, will establish its broadcast centre there. This lease covers three floors of the building on Balanstraße.
DMC Production Germany is one of the prominent sports TV producers in the German-speaking world. The company's services are utilised by public and private broadcasters, as well as international sports federations and rights agencies, among others. DMC Production Germany is part of the Swedish provider DMC, which has positioned itself as an internationally leading provider in the field of digital media platforms.
Strategic importance of the Neue Balan location
Maximilian von der Leyen, Board Member of Allgemeine SÜDBODEN, commented on the importance of company locations. He emphasised that successful companies require modern office spaces with good accessibility, both via private transport and public transport, to attract and retain employees. Equally important is a high quality of outdoor stay, which is guaranteed by short distances to sports and supply facilities, as well as a diverse tenant structure on the Neue Balan campus. The campus is home to almost 400 tenants, ranging from a Montessori school to a data centre.
Bettina Krause, Head of Leasing at Allgemeine SÜDBODEN, highlighted the significance of DMC Production Germany. She pointed out that the company acts as a service provider behind live broadcasts of major events such as the Football World Cup, the Champions League, the 3. Fußball-Bundesliga, and the German Ice Hockey League, thereby reaching an audience of millions. The acquisition of this renowned tenant for the Neue Balan campus was noted with satisfaction. Through this transaction, approximately 70 percent of Haus 28 is now leased, one year after its completion.
Dr. Holger Enßlin, Managing Director Germany, Austria and Switzerland at DMC Production Germany, emphasised the company's growth trajectory. The new spaces on the Neue Balan campus create the necessary capacities for a modern broadcast centre, which is designed for software-based remote production and supports the required growth. The lease agreement was brokered by Colliers International.
Further developments in Haus 28
Existing tenants in Haus 28 already include a globally active technology group. In addition, Siemens Energy, which will operate under the name Omterra in the future, will also move into the new building on the Neue Balan campus in 2026. Haus 28 completes the almost fully leased campus towards Balanstraße. Currently, approximately 7,700 square metres of vacant rental space are still available in this building.
